September 17, 2021 0 Comments

Mexico is home to some of our all-time favorite beaches–Cancun, Tulum, and Puerto Vallarta just to name a few–but we’re about to spill the beans on another totally awesome seaside spot that you have to add to your bucket list…Acapulco! This city has everything you’ve ever wanted and MORE in a beach vacay, plus it’s a fraction of the price of your typical tourist hot spots! Here’s our list of top things to do on your next Acapulco getaway.

Cliff Diving at La Quebrada

As one of the most famous tourist attractions in Acapulco, this nail-biting tradition has been around since the 1930s. Prepare to watch daredevil cliff jumpers dive 130 feet into a narrow gap of ocean between large boulders. The most terrifying part? Each diver must wait for the perfect wave before jumping to ensure the water is deep enough to avoid injury. You can watch these thrilling divers perform daily from a viewing platform or from your own table on the terrace at La Perla restaurant.

Party Along Costera Street

If you’ve come to Acapulco to have a good time–you got to hit up Costera Street. This party-packed street follows the stretch of beach all the way from the far west side of downtown to the row of luxury hotels and all-inclusive resorts on the east side of the bay. Home to laid-back beach bars, rowdy nightclubs and everything in between, Costera Street will have you getting your booze on and enjoying great ocean views while dancing the night away.

Feast on Fresh Seafood

Eating seafood is an obligatory Acapulco activity. You seriously won’t believe the fresh flavors and downright deliciousness of this Pacific paradise! Some of our must-try dishes include ceviche, grilled fish tacos and coconut shrimp. Pair any dish with a margarita–or multiple–and you’ll be in foodie heaven.

Chillax on the Beach

No Mexico vacay is complete without some beachy R&R. Listen to the crashing waves and soak up the sun at one of Acapulco’s many beautiful beaches. Playa Barra Vieja–aka “Old Sand Bar”–is a popular spot among locals and tourists for its secluded vibe. It’s about an hour outside of the city, but its stunning views are totally worth the drive! Plus, the picturesque setting is the spot to go horseback riding on the beach if you’re feeling a little adventurous.

It’s time to go all in–your next Acapulco adventure is waiting for you. Take a look at these totally awesome deals and start planning your getaway today!
